CHRISTMAS 2015

We had the best Christmas together! The Saturday before Christmas, we spent it in Pearson with Shad's family. Our kids love playing with their cousins in Pearson. They opened gifts and played all night together. Pa got the kids an IPOD.. he got Ella Mae a play house. He is also going to take the grandkids to Disney World. On Christmas Eve, we ate at Nene and Papa's house finger foods. They were so yummy. We played with cousins. When we got home that night, we baked cookies for Santa and went to be around 10 pm. The kids got up the next morning around 7 am and were so excited to see their gifts... computer, bb gun, red ranger, baby dolls, bike... all kinds of good things. Nene and Papa got them some really cool outside toys to play with. It was a hot day! It did not feel like Christmas at all. We had a low country boil for lunch. We relaxed the rest of the day and played with toys.

The next day, Logan had his 3rd birthday party. It was a PAW PATROL party. He talked about his Paw Patrol party for over 6 months. We took all the cousins to the clubhouse in Statesboro and they bowled and played arcade games. Shelia and Maria Taylor even came. So did Whitney's best childhood friend Lacie. After the clubhouse, we are bbq and all the fixings. The kids played outside and opened presents and ate the cake. We really enjoyed our day together. We can't believe our BABY BOY will be 3 years old December 29th. He is a blessing and brings pure joy to my heart.

Catching up...

So much has happened since my last post in December 2011. If you read my very first post, you can see that we talked about fostering children and having a colorful family. We know that the Lord provides and answer prayers because this has all come true for us. We adopted Logan Gray Sirmans June 10th, 2014. We adopted Erica Mckay Sirmans and Stephen Trey Sirmans October 5th, 2015. We had Ella Mae Sirmans March 10th, 2014. OUR CUP RUNNETH OVER!!!! We now live in Statesboro, GA (Whitney's home town) right next to Whitney's parents and grandmother Betty. Shad is an assistant principal at Richmond Hill Primary School and Whitney enjoys staying at home with her children. We look forward to what the Lord has in store for our futures together. We hope to add more children and blessings to our life soon.

Our first Christmas

Technically this is not our "first" Christmas... but it is our first Christmas as husband and wife! We could not wait to get home after we bought our first real tree and to put all the ornaments and doo-dads on it! We spent way too much on ornaments at Hobby Lobby (Whitney's favorite store)! We moved our furniture around and put our big tree up in our tiny little living room. We stranded the lights... not just any lights but the pretty, old timey lights with big bulbs... it was gorgeous for about 3 minutes until the the power went off on one end of the house! Shad fixed it all and I have to say it's the prettiest tree ever! We have gorgeous ornaments and we can't wait to add to it every year. A tradition we're starting this year is to watch Christmas Vacation as many times as we can stand it. It never gets old to us! We are so excited to be having our first Christmas together as husband and wife. This time last year we were anticipating an engagement... we are so happy to be together! We look so forward to this time of year and we love to reflect on what this time of year means to us... it's not about the presents (although they are very fun to give and get!).... it's about our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and the celebration of his birth. We wish you all MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I've waited all my life for this...

Get to know us

We have just celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! Hard to imagine we've been married 6 months already.... we only have eternity to go! We absolutely LOVE married life! We are so happy living together in our tiny but very cute home. We stay busy day to day and our favorite part of the day it laying in bed together talking every night. Shad is going on his 12th year teaching 5th grade at Satilla Elementary. Whitney opened a hair salon 4 months ago and business is great! The Lord has really blessed us with our jobs. We spend lots of time with church members and friends and we love serving the Lord in our callings. Whitney was just called as Young Women's President... she was thrilled and very surprised when this happened. Shad was also just called as First Counselor of Young Men's. We are both excited to spend time together not only at home but also at church together while serving our callings. With our free time, we love going to the movies and out to eat Mexican food or pizza. We love going to the temple once a month in either Orlando or Atlanta. We love visiting Whitney's family in Statesboro and when we're in home, we love spending time with Shad's family and our twin nieces and a our nephew. We have recently looked into fostering children. We pray every night that the Lord will help this to happen for us. We hope to one day have a colorful house full of children!
